RAPID CITY, S.D. – The sand seal will be installed on the asphalt paving from the westernmost Spring Creek Bridge to Dakota Point. Pipe work will be complete this week and grading crews are finishing ditch cuts and the new subgrade. Gravel placement will begin from the easternmost Spring Creek Bridge heading east. Permanent striping from Victoria Lake Road to Rockwood Road continues as well.
Between Rockwood Road and the easternmost Spring Creek Bridge, the road consists of dirt grade. Motorcycles and two-wheel drive vehicles should consider an alternate route. During inclement weather, slippery and muddy road conditions may exist.
The speed limit is 35 mph from Victoria Lake Road to the easternmost Spring Creek Bridge. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
Additional information will be provided as phasing, access, and traffic control changes with the progression of the project.
