RAPID CITY, S.D. – Asphalt paving from Victoria Lake Road and Rockwood Road continues this week. Paving tie-ins at various approaches and intersecting streets will follow.
Additional excavation, slope finishing, and pipe installation continue in the construction areas west of Rockwood Road.
Between Rockwood Road and the easternmost Spring Creek Bridge, the road consists of dirt grade. Motorcycles and two-wheel drive vehicles should consider an alternate route. During inclement weather, slippery and muddy road conditions may exist.
The speed limit is 35 mph from Victoria Lake Road to the easternmost Spring Creek Bridge. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
Additional information will be provided as phasing, access, and traffic control changes with the progression of the project. To view the entire scope of the project, with phasing and traffic control plans, please visit the project website: https://www.SheridanLakeRoad.com or the ArcGIS StoryMap located at: https://arcg.is/58fn9.
