Project Update 2022-04-12

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Construction operations consist of dirt moving and pipe installation in the construction area west of Rockwood Road. The current focus remains in areas of large fill and locations where driveways require realignment.

Between Rockwood Road and the easternmost Spring Creek bridge, the road consists of dirt grade. Motorcycles and 2-wheel drive vehicles should consider an alternate route. During inclement weather blading and road surface maintenance will be completed but road conditions may be slippery and muddy.

The speed limit is 35 mph from Victoria Lake Road to the easternmost Spring Creek bridge. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.

Additional information will be provided as phasing, access, and traffic control changes with the progression of the project. To view the entire scope of the project, with phasing and traffic control plans, please visit the project website: https://www.SheridanLakeRoad.com or the ArcGIS StoryMap located at: https://arcg.is/58fn9.
