RAPID CITY, S.D. – September 20, 2021 – Seeding is in progress moving west from Norseman Lane. Finish work behind the curb and on slopes continues.
Removal of the gravel detour to the marina will take place this week. Traffic is on the new alignment road up to North Beach Road.
Reminder: Sheridan Lake Road is closed from Taylor Ranch Road to Highway 385.
Gravel will be placed this week along the new alignment from Old Sheridan Lake Road moving west to Rockwood Road.
A maintenance crew will be onsite during precipitation events and through the weekends to continue to maintain the road.
The speed limit is 35 mph from Norseman Lane to Rockwood Road. Thru traffic from Rapid City to Highway 385 must use an alternate route. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes. Additional information will be provided as phasing, access, and traffic control changes with the progression of the project.
