Project Update 2021-03-30

RAPID CITY, S.D. – March 30, 2021 – Milling on Sheridan Lake Road has begun at Norseman Lane and is moving west. Affected mailboxes will be relocated.

The gravel detour to the Marina from Highway 385 is completed and in use.

Blasting rock for excavation will continue this week.

Work this week also includes earth moving and installing storm sewer.

Patching and road cleanup will take place from Norseman Lane to Boulder Hill Road as needed.

The speed limit is 35 mph from Norseman Lane to Rockwood Road. Sheridan Lake Road is fully closed from Spring Creek Trailhead Road to Highway 385. Thru traffic from Rapid City to Highway 385 must use an alternate route.

Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.

Additional information will be provided as phasing, access, and traffic control changes with the progression of the project. To view the entire scope of the project, with the phasing and traffic control plans as well as weekly updates, please visit the project website https://www.SheridanLakeRoad.com or the Story Map located at: https://arcg.is/58fn9.
