RAPID CITY, S.D. – March 9, 2021 – Sheridan Lake Road is fully closed from Spring Creek Trailhead Road to Highway 385. It is anticipated to reopen Nov. 19, 2021. Thru traffic from Rapid City to Highway 385 must use an alternate route. Traffic to the Marina will be maintained on salvaged gravel from Highway 385. Tree removal trucks and logging trucks will be present on the roadway between the Spring Creek bridges and Spring Creek Trailhead Road. Utility work is being completed from Rockwood Road to Burgess Road.
Blasting rock for excavation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10. Blasting will be at the west end of Sheridan Lake Road, approximately .1 miles east of Highway 385.
Work on the gravel detour to the Marina will begin early this week. Power crews will be present early this week to relocate poles and drop electrical lines.
Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
