RAPID CITY, S.D. – June 29, 2020 – Two-way traffic will be maintained through the holiday weekend. Through traffic, such as motorists on their way to Sheridan Lake, are advised to consider an alternate route. Traffic delays are 15 minutes during daylight hours, when traffic is reduced to a single lane and guided through the work zone with the use of flaggers and a pilot car. At night there is two-way traffic. The speed limit is 35 mph from Albertta Drive to Victoria Lake Road.
Storm sewer installation continues this week moving west from Albertta Drive. Utility relocation activities continue to progress along Sheridan Lake from Clarkson Road to Norseman Lane. Tree removals and cleanup continue this week along Sheridan Lake Road in preparation for future phases.
A new drone video for Phase 3 of this reconstruction project has been posted to the Story Map located at: https://arcg.is/58fn9.
Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
Additional information will be provided as phasing, access, and traffic control changes with the progression of the project. The public may leave a message at (605)343-3311 with any questions or concerns regarding this reconstruction project.
